For more than a decade, I’ve been speaking on the topic of “preserving one’s memories through memoir.” I also occasionally give talks on self-publishing.
Guest speaking engagements across North Florida include: Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park; Delta Kappa Gamma (Florida District II meeting in Middleburg, FL); Gainesville Woman’s Club; Haile Plantation Friday Friends; local chapters of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) International; Writers Alliance of Gainesville (WAG); University of Florida’s Museum Nights at the Harn; Matheson History Museum‘s Scribes of the Sunshine State; and Alachua County Library’s Local Author Showcase.
My memoir writing workshops meet for an hour or two each week for four or five weeks. If you would like to sponsor or take part in one of these workshops, please contact me.
Susie, thank you for your help and encouragement. — F. Manfe, author of My Journey
Susie, thank you so much for sharpening our focus on our own unfolding lives. [We are] going to enjoy what you taught us for a long time . . . An excerpt from a note received following a talk at The Village in Gainesville, Florida.
Susie, thanks so much for organizing, preparing, and presenting the self-publishing program for WAG. It was smooth, informative, provocative, and entertaining. — J. Sherrard
